Pontifical Missionary Society

Overview

The Pontifical Missionary Society is the parish’s missionary arm, helping Christians live their call to share the Gospel through prayer, formation, charity, and support for missionary work locally and globally. At St. Charles Lwanga Ntinda Parish, the society nurtures missionary awareness among children, families, youth, and adults, and mobilizes parishioners to participate in the Church’s evangelizing mission.

Mission

To awaken, sustain, and grow the missionary spirit in all Christians so that the Gospel of Christ may reach every corner of the world.

Raise awareness of the Church’s missionary calling.
Support missionary activities within the parish and beyond.
Nurture faith among children, youth, and adults through missionary education.
Encourage prayer, solidarity, and generosity toward missionary work.

Key activities or services provided

Missionary Education

Teaching parishioners, especially children, about evangelization, compassion, and service.

Awareness Building

Sharing information about the missionary work of the Church and how parishioners can contribute.

Fundraising

Mobilizing donations to support missionary work through the Church’s mission structures.

Community Support

Encouraging acts of charity within and beyond the parish.

Annual Missionary Events

Participating in Missionary Children’s Day, Jubilee activities, and archdiocesan pilgrimages.

Leadership & Structure

Overall Leader: In-Charge of Liturgy.
The Liturgy Department is composed of various liturgical ministries that support the planning, coordination, and reverent execution of all worship activities within the parish.

Membership: Approx. 20 committee members, with wider involvement from parishioners in sub-units (ushers, choir, lectors, etc.).
